Rev. Jeremiah Wright, presidential candidate Barack Obama’s former spirtual advisor and pastor, was honored last night at a NAACP dinner in Detroit. Rev. Wright made headline news last month, when snippets of his past preachings were made available to the media. Rev. Wright was quoted, during one of his racially charged sermons, saying, “No, no, no, not God Bless America. God damn America — that’s in the Bible — for killing innocent people. God damn America, as long as she pretends to act like she is God, and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent.” [1]
Rev. Wright, at the NAACP dinner last night, made no comments that some might deem “controversial,” instead his words spoke about change; change within the media and his image. He also covered education, religion, and briefly spoke about the presidential political race. To view the entire speech, click the above video.
But the main question is: How does that effect us? What effect does Rev. Wright’s speeches and past sermon have on us? Does this man make us not want to vote for Barack Obama? Or does it not affect you at all? We want to hear what you have to say? Leave a comment and have your comment featured on the main website page. To view OnAir Politiks! Coverage and Opinion of Rev.
